HIST 440 - The US Presidency

This course will examine the evolution of the U.S. Presidency from 1789 to the president day, with special attention devoted to the changing scope and function of the office in the changing context of broader American history. Other topics of particular interest are the key figures who have altered the institution and role of crisis in changing the scope and functioning of the office.
