The BA degree in Public Health provides an option for students to pursue an interdisciplinary degree in an area with increased demand as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Core requirements make use of courses from across the university: Biology, Business, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Kinesiology, Sociology, and Psychology. Quantitative Methods courses ensure that students are well-versed in statistics and data analysis. Life Science courses in biology and nutrition ensure that students understand the basic tenets of health and the human body. The program has a goal of emphasizing rural public health, and serving diverse and underrepresented populations.
